Greater Scranton Jaycees Scholarship

Every year since 1989, the Greater Scranton Jaycees have awarded a scholarship to a worthy Penn State Worthington Scranton student to help assist them with their higher education costs. We are proud to continue this tradition with this fully endowed scholarship. Please see below for past recipients, eligibility and selection procedures.

Greater Scranton Jaycees Scholarship Information

Purpose:The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding students enrolled or planning to enroll at the Penn State Worthington Scranton campus.

Eligibility:Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students who are currently enrolled or are planning to enroll at the Penn State Worthington Scranton campus, who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic sucess, who have a proven record of community service or leadership, and who are residents of Lackawanna County.

Selection Procedures: Recipients of the scholarship shall be selected by a Worthington Scranton scholarship committee. The Office of Student Aid, which is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations concerning federal, state, and other aid in accordance with University policy regarding academic scholarships under University control, shall be informed of all awards.

Amount: The number of scholarships awarded and the amount of each shall be determined by a selection committee.

Term: Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year but may be renewed for subsequent years, providing the recipient continues to meet conditions of eligibility and funds are available.
