Greater Scranton Jaycees Inducts 2010 Board of Directors During Annual Installation Dinner Held at the Green Ridge Club of Scranton.
Scranton, Pennsylvania, January 16, 2010 – The Greater Scranton Jaycees introduces 13 new officers to the Board of Directors. The ceremony took place at the Green Ridge Club on Saturday, January 16, 2010. State Representative, Honorable Ken Smith, served as the Guest Speaker. Afterwards, Courene M. Loftus, 2009 President, inducted in the 2010 President, Elizabeth Shechner. After officially accepting the reigns, Ms. Shechner introduced the entire board. They are as follows; Vice-President - Mellody Swinick, Asst. Vice-President - Sarah Deutchman, Treasurer - Kevin Leibold, Secretary - Mari Walsh, Chairwoman of the Board - Courene M. Loftus, Public Relations Director - Martina Coon, Development Director - Amanda Clare, Membership Director - Lynn Fox Leibold, State Director - Tom Osborn, Goodwill Ambassador - Virginia Wilmarth, Information Services Director - Meghan Addessi and Historian - Susan Luchko.
The Greater Scranton Jaycees are a non-profit, community service, volunteer organization consisting of young professionals. They’re involved in and plan numerous community activities, events and fundraisers throughout the year. Last year’s events included: Valentine's Day Visits to area assisted living homes, a Holiday Card project, the Jaycees 34th Annual Easter Egg Scramble and 17th Annual Santa Parade. They also participated as volunteers with Big Brother's-Big Sister's Bowl for Kid's Sake, Saint Joseph's Center Festival, Host for the day at the St. Francis of Assisi kitchen, One Stop Donation Drop and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. In addition, the Jaycees offers a Penn State University Scholarship to local students.

Greater Scranton Jaycees announce Annual Easter Egg Scramble
Scranton, Pennsylvania, – The Greater Scranton Jaycees gather together to organize their Annual Easter Egg Scramble to be held on Sunday, March 28th, 2010 at 12:00 P.M. at Nay Aug Park. Children ages 12 and under are welcome to attend this free community event sponsored in part by Gertrude Hawk Chocolates, Harper Collins Publishers and Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union.
