Easter Egg Scramble 2010

The Greater Scranton Jaycees organization held its annual Easter Egg Scramble in Nay Aug Park on Sunday, March 28th. Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union, Gertrude Hawk Chocolates and Harper Collins Publishers generously sponsored the event, while MAC Signs kindly donated an update to our banner. We thank our sponsors and volunteers for making this event possible.

 



Bowl for Kids' Sake 2010


Once again, the Greater Scranton Jaycees supported the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization in Lackawanna County by participating in the annual Bowl for Kids' Sake on Saturday, March 27th at South Side Bowl.  Fun was had by all and funds were raised by the group and members who attended.

Valentine Visit 2010

 On Valentine's weekend, members of the Greater Scranton Jaycees visited residents of both the Lackawanna and Dunmore healthcare facilities.  The Jaycees helped to spread some cheer by distributing carnations and cards made by local children to the residents.  Thank you to our sponsors and volunteers for making this event possible.

Murder Mystery Fundraiser with
Bracken Theatre Company
2009

On Saturday, October 17th, The Greater Scranton Jaycees organization held its first Murder Mystery fundraiser.  We extend a thank you to Hometown Heroes in Dunmore, PA for generously donating the event space and to the Bracken Theatre Company for providing the awesome entertainment.  Thank you to all attendees as well!

 



Race for the Cure 2009
"Tinkled Pink" Donation

  On Saturday, September 12th, The Greater Scranton Jaycees served as a sponsor in the Tinkled Pink fundraiser, a program allowing local businesses and organizations to decorate a porta potty along the race route in exchange for a $100 donation. Pictured above are Mellody Swinick, Chair, and Tom Osborn, who both braved the rain in the wee hours of the morning!

 


 
St. Joseph's Festival 2009

The Greater Scranton Jaycees volunteered at St. Joseph's Festival's raffle stand on July 25th. Pictured are Kevin Leibold, Courene Loftus, Tony Patte and Colleen Joyce. Lynn Leibold (not shown) helped at the potato pancake stand.

 

 


 
Host for the Day 2009

 

The Greater Scranton Jaycees hosted a day at the St. Francis of Assist Kitchen in Scranton on June 6th.  Among the volunteers were Courene Loftus, Kevin Leibold and Lynn Leibold, pictured above with Monsignor Siconolfi.

 


 
One Stop Donation Drop 2009

The Greater Scranton Jaycees volunteered at the One Stop Donation Drop, which was held at the Waverly Community House on April 18th.  For the event, members of the community donated lightly used items for distribution to various charities while helping to keep items out of the landfill. Volunteers included from left to right: Megan Marshall, Tony Patte (Development Director) and Courene Loftus (President). 

 


Gift to McDade Park

The Greater Scranton Jaycees recently donated two trees to McDade Park in Scranton.  The trees were used on the 2008 Santa Parade float, which was themed around recycling.  Pictured from left are Colleen Joyce, Courene Loftus, Mellody Swinick, Amy Worman and Tony Patte.
